Hello! New to tortoises

Hello, my name is Jess and my boyfriend is Terrence. We are going to be getting a baby Hermann's tortoise this summer. Neither of us have owned a tortoise so I was thrilled when I found this forum. We (mainly my bf) had a red-eared slider however he passed away in December at 25 years old. After much discussion and research, we decided to go with a tortoise instead of another turtle. I look forward to learning as much as possible from actual owners instead of just relying on the articles online.
