Greetings from NY!
I have a background in biology, 4-H and currently work in a public library and as a freelance artist.
I am relatively experienced in keeping pet turtles and snakes. I grew up with box turtles and sliders, and have kept garter snakes for about a decade, though I am currently snakeless. Though my parents own a redfooted tortoise, I have moved out and have spent the last year researching what type of turtle or tortoise will fit into my current lifestyle and my future. I am planning on getting a pair of redfoots this summer, and wanted to have this forum as a resource as I go through the process of researching, prepping and bringing home my new pets. I have grown quite fond of my parents tortoise in the 10 years he's been with them. I knew box turtles had alot of personality, but I had no idea how freindly and curious refoots can be. I am excited to make a space in my life for a couple of these sweet little creatures.
