It's kind of a big deal!

So those of you that have taken the time to read and respond my newbie Leopard Tort Mommy posts for advice all week (SO glad I found you all ❤️) I'd like to ask a small favor:

My Peanut doesn't have a birthday. I know he could care less lol, but, as dorky as it sounds, I want to have a day for him....

For those of you reading just now- who have no idea what I'm talking about, I won't say I made a "mistake" by purchasing a tort for a local reptile house specializing in snakes, but I did make a very unfortunate, ignorant decision. My first leopard from the shop died after just 3 weeks, they replaced him with the one I have now.

(Fast forward, fast forward.)

I've had him for 11 days now. I found this forum shortly after bringing him home.

Someone asked me his hatch date. I got in touch with the reptile house and they didn't know, told me he (yes, I know, he may not be a "he", humor me) was between 6-12 months old.

Well great. If I'm gonna have this guy til I die I wanna know his bday, dammit. Yet, he just doesn't have one.

So with all that being said. I'm creating a birthdate.

I'm including photos, and based off of whatever you wanna base it off of, throw me a "guess date". Help me choose a birthday for my special guy :) :) :)

All of these photos have been taken in the past 11 days. (No, I didn't let him eat the strawberry, just made for a cute photo shoot)

You could always go with the way the thoroughbred horse people do it - Jan. 1st. I would say his birth year was 2016, so on 1/1/17 he turned one year.

Wow, so you would guess (for fun) that he'd be well over a year and a half old now?

Turning 2 this next January, less than 4 months out. Wasn't expecting that at all. Need to broaden my horizons a bit (for lack of a better term.) I really was thinking 6-12 months.

I'm surprised! Appreciate that! Thanks :)

I agree with @wellington, but just so you know, all tortoises grow at different speeds. I personally would set his birthday on the day you got him. You'll always remember day.
