Perhaps some substrate got into the eye? What do you use for substrate?

Is that a cut above the eye? I have seen eye washes mentioned before. I would try to wash the eye with water and put some antibiotic on what looks like a cut.

I use a mix organic topsoil and organic peat moss. I made sure to sprinkle in some dolomite when I made the mixture to reduce acidity and such. I was thinking perhaps substrate in the eye as well, but idk? *shrugs*

There has been no change in their environment really at all since I've had them, they have been in 100 percent quarantine lockdown.

Hey Barb. Nope there was no open wound, scratch or cut. I had both my Mrs and my sister double check my novice eyes just to make sure. I can see from those pictures how to sort of looks like there might be an open wound, but there isn't. Im pretty stumped, it came about really fast.

Have he been outside on a sunny, but windy day? My sullies developed some foamy matter in their eyes because I put them outside for a short time in in the sun; however it was windy and the vet said perhaps some dust or dirt got blown into their eyes. No infection if there's no redness or swelling.

She might have just scratched the eye with her leg, or substrate or whatever. There's a product sold in pet stores called Vetericyn. Look for the one for eyes. Its a soothing gel. Looks like this:

Thanks Yvonne! (Seeeee shes the bestest!). Ill see if petsmart or petco has that available today. I am ordering some terramycin ointment and some oral baytril now. Is there any issue using the terramycin after the product you recommend?

Tommy I had a young pardalis that had seemingly puffy eyes for two days but was eating and I couldn't figure out what was going on. I starting soaking twice a day in slightly deeper water rather than once a day and it cleared up immediately. It's doing just fine now but I've been continuing the twice a day soaks with vitamin A drop and that gel that yvonne recommended. Whether or not it was the same issue as your redfoot is unknown but I'm just letting you know what I did.
With a redfoot I'd imagine you could soak numerous times a day with no possible issues. What is your soaking routine like?

Hey Again. As it stands the sub adults get soaked 3 to 4 time a week, of course being as my schedule dictates. However, soaking this one multiple times a day is not an problem.

All the torts.are in quarantine so she has only had access to the one othet tort she came with, which is healthy as can be as it stands.

Ya know, they are in tubs. The tubs being plastic of course do have a lil bit of dirt dust on them. This particular tort loves to sleep with her front end mushed against the wall....maybe it is just dirt causing it.... *hmph*

If you can get the Terramycin, then more power to you. It has been unavailable for quite some time. If you do get it, then you don't need to use the Vetericyn.
