Hey there. I'm new here. I have two Malayan box tortoises. My tortoises' bottom stomach part's skin started peeling since last month. I know it is normal that tortoise shedding their skin. I can google and see mostly explain why the tortoise sheds skin at their shell part. But what about the bottom part? and I found that the tearing parts becomes red like blood color. Is this normal? Please advise. Below are the pictures.

Thank you. Any idea of best treatment for shell rot? I see they use hydrogen peroxide in the website but my place doesnt sell this. and peroxide is dangerous for tortoises. Perhaps you have any better, easier and healthier way?

Here are some meds you can use . Wash with the soap then put on bedadine day one . Wash with soap then apply foot cream ( fungus foot cream ) till all rot is gone . The rot comes from keeping him wet damp and warm is good . Wet and warm will make the rot . You can buy this stuff at Wall-Mart .

You only use the Betadine one time.

After you wash the area with Betadine to kill any germs growing there, you then use the athlete foot cream as shown above.
