Hey so I have a large tortoise table 8ft by 4ft and I am having some issues with humidity. I have a repti fogger but it doesn't really help. The Redfoots I have were given to me but they were kept rather dry and they have that white stuff around there scutes do to dryness. I am doing my best to keep them humid I soak them each day and I pour water into the soil aswell as the fogger. The top of the soil drys but the bottom stays wet. Anything else I should be doing to raise it. Or anything to help the torts get back to normal.

2 words... Closed chambers!

Seriously though, it's the easiest, most efficient way to provide a humid environment.
Think of it like this: you are keeping the bathroom door closed after you've taken a shower...cuz once you open the door, out goes the warm and humid air.

I think I am going to build a replica of my other torts tank. I don't have issues with his. It's a closed chamber

I have a sully but what u did with my closed chamber since its made of wood i lined the walls and roof with plastic and acts as a sealer. I don't have an issue with humidity like i used to i never use my reptile fogger i just wet the substate every so often

I had a tank for my baby sulcata that was 5 foot long and 2 feet wide. The areas that weren't covered I used a piece of plexi glass and a towel to cover completely. You should use a large spoon to mix the substrate. It'll need to be sprayed more than once a day. If not, humidity will quickly arise. How warm are you keeping it?

My sulcata is very smooth and healthy.

Here's some great plant identification websites I use.
