Today i changed up the bedding for my baby sulcata's cage!

I added Three Different beddings, to add the feature of out in the wild,
I added zoo med repti-bark,
Zoo Med Eco Earth Loose Coconut Substrate,
and finally some timothy Hay!

Today im also gunna build a small pin to put him outside during the day!
Made Out Of Wood, and wielded Wire to Cover the Top!

Just be prepared for your little one to eat the Timothy Hay, or is that why you are using it?

yes, its Kaytee Natural Timothy Hay,
and he has no interest with it now, i heard they eat it when there older like a year old!
but im hoping he gets used to it and takes interest and eats it at a younger age,
he eats grass and weeds, dandelions at a young age to this is good!

I don't recommend using hay because it doesn't work well with the moisture. I use a mix of coir, topsoil, compost and peat moss.

You need a substrate that you can keep moist. You need about 80% humidity to prevent your baby from pyramiding. That means you should get rid of the hay. There are 4 things needed to prevent pyramiding...a good and varied diet, strong UVB, high humidity and lots of exercise. The hay should be gone. He needs a safe and secure hide. Keeping and raising a healthy Sulcata tortoise is not as easy as it looks. You should read up on Toms cars sheet for hatchlings and see how close you can come to keeping your guy like that. Please keep asking questions and try your best to set your baby up right...

I agree with Maggie about the hay... well everything else too.

I might have already mentioned that to you though...
