I'm a concerned carer.
I have a 2 year old Marginated Tortoise male. I've been plagued by tiny flies mostly around his table. His urine is very pungent and he's terrible at drinking from his dish. So I soak him twice a day hoping he's managing to absorb some fluids. Is there anything available to buy that his tortoise friendly?

Hello!
I don't know what to do about the pungent urine. If that's a symptom of being dehydrated, then soaking twice a day will definitely help!
I have problems with fungus gnats in my enclosure. I'm not sure if that's the same problem you have, but fly paper seems to help. I have one hanging from the top of my enclosure.

I have found that baking substrate 200/250 for at least 3 hours great reduces the gnats. Usually keeps them away for about a year or so. The substrate I have baked is coconut coir and orchid bark or any of the reptile barks.
