Hello I'm joining this community to learn more about tortoises.

I don't currently own one but I've been keeping reptiles and amphibians all my life. It all started with an eastern painted turtle named Tommy who I got when I was four years old.

He just passed away six months ago and I'm grieving very much.

I need another turtle in my life.

Redditors speak very highly of this forum and I'm excited to learn from everyone here.

Please take a read through our caresheets to decide if you want a tortoise or a turtle. We do have more tortoise owners on here but many has had or still do have turtles to and we can still help with them as well.

Our tortoise was a "rescue". I highly recommend looking for a fully grown tortoise (or turtle) looking for a new home.
