Hi everyone,
Found this forum tonight and just want to say hello.
I got my 6 testudo hermanni hermanni from sardinia about one month ago, they are from 3 different hatches from different females.
Made them an enclosure from16x24 inch for the moment, so they dont get lost in a bigger one;), its covered with glass slades with ventilation on 2 sides and heated by a halogeen spot 35 watt.
Soil is cocopeat covered with spaghnum with few rocks and an old wine trunck.
Group will be bigger soon, in talks with german breeder for 5 more, to have more bloodlines to select breeding group in few years.
Then they wil have an 15m2 outside enclosure for themselves.
Greetings Edwin

Today i been to Germany and collected 5 more young ones, they average between 15 and 18 grams. So still to long time to go before i can put them free in the garden.
Only negative are they blue numbers they use in germany to indentify them for the cites regulation, but they will wear of rapidly i hope.
Here are some pictures of the total group.

Very nice! I just got my first testudo hermanni hermanni (Sardinian the breeder said) this month. He/she was hatched on 9-27-22.

I was hoping to find more of the Sardinian variety as well here in the US. You probably cant export them from Europe to the US, I would guess.
