for a while now my 5 year old male horseflies tortoise has been going off his food but now he has almost completely lost his appetite. I can't even tempt him to eat dandelions and they are his favourite. I have take him to the vets and they did tests but they don't seem to think anything is wrong with him.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to encourage him to eat?

I am so sorry to hear that - it's a worry isn't it? Is he warm enough, has uv rays? I expect you've already checked those so apologies if I am stating the obvious. Is there anything in the care sheets to help? I do hope he picks up soon.

Make sure he has a basking spot of 95 to 100. You can try a warm soak with a jar of carrot or squash baby food in it.

I have never had to do this myself but yes because they absorb it with the water I believe to make sure they get vitamin A. Do a 'baby food soak' search in Tortoise Health thread to check
