How can you tell if a turtle has pneumonia?

My 2 year old mud turtle had a near-drowning incident the night before last. I found her yesterday morning and managed to revive her. I know that after a near-drowning turtles can develop pneumonia, but I don't know what symptoms to look for.
Anybody know?

I'm not sure with mud turtles, because they don't ever seem to float, but in other species, they will float a bit sideways or tilted.

I'm not sure that that can be diagnosed without an xray.
...Not that I'm an expert.
But that sounds like a good tip.

My turtle was diagnosed, as Yvonne and Zero already pointed out, by floating lopsided and his xray showed a bacterial infection in his lung. I don't remember any other particular symptoms, to be honest

I was going to say the same thing as Yvonne. I didn't know about turtles, but I've watched tortoise vets fill up large tubs and float tortoises in them to see if they float level or lopsided.
