So, I am trying to build my Russian an 8 square foot box enclosure. How deep do I make the substrate? How often do I need to change the substrate? I had wanted to put the box on my deck for the most sun, but now I am thinking that would be hard when needing to change his soil. Advice?

Thanks! I will try to go onto the forum with my computer the next time I have a question....because I did search, and nothing came up on my phone.

I would also make sure the substrate is at least 5-6 inches deep :D

Just be sure that the patio enclosure is kept free of ants....also, being outdoors, to me, won't make a difference on cleaning it...actually, if you can find some pill bugs (rolly pollys) and perhaps a few nightcrawler worms and toss em in there they will aid in keeping the soil healthy longer....:D
