Any tips on the bet way to keep up humidity? Is a humidifier recommended? Any tips would be great!

Search closed chamber enclosures
They are the only real way to obtain and keep up humidity
A humidifier is like placing a band-aid on a gaping wound

What species are you housing? What size?

I agree with ZEROPILOT. A closed chamber is the only thing that will work. Humidifiers should not be blowing directly into tortoise enclosures. Its not good for them to be breathing those micro droplets. You can run a humidifier in the room, but it won't do much with an open topped enclosure. Trying to heat an open topped enclosure is like trying to heat your house in winter with no roof. It doesn't work. All the heating and lighting need to be contained inside the enclosure. This makes it very effective and also very efficient. You use a fraction of the electricity to maintain warmth.

Have you seen this one yet:

Pictures of your setup would be useful.
