How great is this site?

I know it has probably been said before, and hopefully be said again.

But I love this site, sure we get into disagreements, a sometimes words are exchanged.

But as I look over past threads I see many many more helpful people and words being offered then mean words being said. When someone has a heart breaking story, or someone has a sick one who needs help, people usually respond with kindness and great advice.

So to everyone who helps make this site great thank you.

Wow, David...I've never heard so many words from you at the same time! That must mean you really mean what you've said. And I totally agree. This is a wonderful place to talk tortoise. And ALL the people who share their knowledge are wonderful too!

I agree 100%!!!

We are (mostly) adults with differing opinions, OF COURSE there are going to be disagreements! There isn't a single person out there that has never gotten into an argument or disagreement with a friend, and then made up later. We all do that, it is part of being human!

I get so frustrated when people say things like, "You guys are mean, I'm never coming back!" because the only one being hurt by that is the person doing the leaving. The good this forum does WAAAAAAYYYYY out-weighs the bad! Always remember that

This is a wonderful forum and I was flying blind raising my tortoise and now I feel good with all the help I have received. I have seen a few threads get a bit out of control but even still advice was being given out. I know everyone on here means the best and sometime emotions get the better of us, but disagreements lead to answers and to solve a problem you sometimes have to disagree to find the right answer.

I love the passion that so many put into the care and well being of tortoises and that lets me know that when I do ask a question it will be from the heart and is meant for the well being of my tortoises.

So I would like to say thank you to everyone that has helped me improve the quality of life for my torts, especially Tom, his guides are freaking awesome...

This is my first forum and I love it as well as all of the people on it. I feel I am kind of sheltered in my little slice of this big world and admit to having been scared of all of the bad that is out "there" in this big scary world. But, with so many different places represented by such a wide variety of nice and compassionate people it has helped to give me a more optimistic world view.

Ha, I am such a sap! Talking about tortoises has changed my world view! Oh well, it's true!

I believe it's the same passion that we have for our tortoises that leads us into those disagreements. I know I have been in a couple, but it's just that we care so much. Anyhow, I spend a lot of time here, I must like it some. I bought a laptop so I could watch my TV shows and be on TFO, but I have discovered I can't do the 2 things at once...

I have learned so much here too. But most of all I LOVE seeing all the pictues. I really can't contribute as much as all these knowledgeable people do, but I'm constantly reading every day here. I love how after a very heated argument, everyone always apoligizes and makes up. And did I say how much I love all the pictures!!! I have so many desk top backgrounds from the pictures on here. I love when someone goes on vacation and posts all there pictures, especially since I know I'll never get to any of these places. And I love how people on here come from different parts of the world and we get to see where they live. I have NEVER seen anything like this on any other forum.
