When we bought our lovely Countess at the East Bay Vivarium a little over a year ago they told us that she was somewhere between 7 and 10, at that point she was about 5-6 inches long and weighed about 500-600 grams. Now she's grown quite significantly, she is about 6.5 inches long and weighs 950 grams. I'm thinking that maybe since she's growing so fast she may be closer to the younger end of the age range we were told. Does anyone know anything about when they stop growing? Also we are about to move and build her an outdoor summer home, does anyone have any neat designs?ImageUploadedByTortForum1371848309.613866.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1371848360.841051.jpg

Your tort was undoubtedly wild caught and they grow slower in the wild than in captivity. So with you she is going through agrowth spurt due to good food and environment. There is no way of knowing how old a tort is withiut knowing its hatch date and yours could be 5-10 years or it could be 5 or 10 years either side of that... it depends on its food and environment before it came to you.
