I have a baby sulcata that is about 6 months. He is still quite small. How old should he be before I create an outdoor enclosure for him?
They need an outdoor enclosure from the time they hatch. They should go outside for no more than an hour or two a few times a week, when weather permits, when they are little babies. As they grow, their enclosure will need to grow, and they can stay outside more and more. My general rule is and hour of outside time per inch of tortoise. Always soak them after a sunning session here in our dry climate.I have a baby sulcata that is about 6 months. He is still quite small.
