With only one tort asleep in my house, I realized I'd miss him greatly if I didn't have a few activities to keep myself busy in the meantime. Here are some fun things to do to help you keep your sanity and stop constantly checking that your little one is OK! :D

  1. Catch up with old friends.
  2. Give those relatives you don't see often a call.
  3. Take in a movie.
  4. Read a book.
  5. Write a story.
  6. Take a "painting with a twist" class.
  7. See if your local library offers a free course that interests you.
  8. Check out a group on Meetup.com.
  9. Finally tackle that low-priority project at work you've been putting off for so long.
  10. Organize or clean your home.
  11. Relax in a warm, soothing bubble bath.
  12. Give yoga a whirl if you've never tried it before.
  13. Get a massage with that leftover Xmas cash.
  14. Get to work on those taxes.
  15. Spend some time outdoors (if it's not too cold).
  16. Try a new sport, or join a gym and get some exercise.
  17. Get crafty with scrapbooking, origami, knitting, cooking, etc.
  18. Learn a new (or a first) musical instrument.
  19. Volunteer or tutor (check out VolunteerMatch.org).
  20. Cross something off your bucket list (if you have one).

Feel free to add items or share your experiences. :)

Fortunately I've only got one Russian and he started his hibernation Dec 21. Not much of a change for me but nice to have a break from having to wash his food and water dishes several times a day because he enjoys soiling them both!
