Are you serious that they dropped out of the sky? Or did you mean they all bloomed at the same time. I don't know what it is, but it looks tropical. I think I may have to see the whole plant. Let's see if @Iochroma is any better at the I.D.

It's not one I recognize - at least not from the flower alone.

Did it come from a tree?
I walked the entire neighborhood and both streets to the est and west...I don't see the damn thing ANYWHERE!

Sure looks like a brand of mariposa lilly to me.....??? I too live in the high desert and have had them rarely show themselves here---usually a fire orange and not the yellow sunburst color...
Not a Mariposa...they have smooth petals....these have a ridged petal...similar to hibiscus! IT-3 ate one but no more! ALL the other torts have avoided them.

Ah....you're saying the wind blew them in. I left my gloves sitting on an outside shelf and after the wind, I found one in the Aldabran pen. Never did find the other one.

(Has nothing to do with your yellow flowers, just thought I'd share)

Well..if you have a local nursery near you...i would take it there and see what you actually have...
