I'm a new tortoise owner to a 6 month old redfoot tortoise, and I have been wondering how often should I be seeing urates when he defecates? I've seen urates from him once or twice since I got him about a month ago, and I'm worried that he may be getting dehydrated or already dehydrated. I soak him every day (sometimes more than once), but he never drinks when he's being soaked. I do see him drink water from his bowl every day or every other day as well as climb in it and soak himself . His eyes do not look sunken in to me but that could just be my inexperience.
I'd love some advice to keep my little guy happy and healthy. Thank you in advance.
