Ibera Greek tortoise sleeping with head on the ground under heat lamp.

Hey guys I’m a new tortoise owner but my tortoise is about 1 year old. I saw him sleeping under his heat lamp for a few minutes with his head Laying on the ground. Is this okay is he healthy?

The rear leg posture looks fairly normal. I cannot see the left front leg, but right front also appears to be in a normal "resting" position. Tortoises often sleep in similar positions.

Has it been acting OK?

Thanks for the response he seems fine it was just odd for him to do that. Maybe he just needed warmth.

My Ibera also sleeps under his lamp with his eyes closed. I think he's chilling. If he's doing it for hours just ensure he can move and is OK by calling his name or something but certainly mine does it for a good 30 or more mins at a time.

My Greek tort often does that too. Even I believe it is the fact that they need warmth.
