Found a interesting plant yesterday. Thought it was a wild foxglove at first but upon closer inspection I can guarantee that it is NOT a foxglove.
Super fuzzy and velvety.

Here is a dried leaf, front and back.

Appreciate any help IDing and whether or not is good to feed.

I was going to suggest a young horehound plant, but the leaf shape and structure isn't quite right…

Have you ever seen this plant go to seed in your area? Does it make little bundles of stickers that get in your socks and shoelaces?

Does horehound get that big? This leaf is 8inches long, and there were damaged ones even bigger.

No. When I opened this thread, only the first pic showed up. Weak internet here…

Now I can see the other pic with the ruler. Not horehound.

My animals won't eat anything with a fuzzy leaf, so I don't offer it, but they're not toxic.

Yeah..... I had it right as well ( Post #2)) Thanks @Iochroma for the confirmation. We have many of these growing along the edges of fields, back roads, unmowed areas. By summer, early Fall you can see their tall stocks with flowers.

So I offered Clunker a chunk of the mullein leaf. He sniffed it and was very eager to try it. But you can tell the fuzziness bugs him, he is eating it though.
I think I will offer it occasionally, perhaps see if I can easily scrape some of the fuzz off first... I'll be shaving a leaf- a first for me.
