I am looking at expanding my sulcata tortoise pen. The new area currently has yaupon holly trees/shrubs (Ilex vomitoria) and Texas Wild Olives (Cordia boissier) located in it. In the event of any of these leaves falling to the ground of the new enclosure, would they pose a problem if ingested by the tortoise?

Holly..from TheTortoiseTable

  • Common Name: Holly
  • Latin Name: Ilex aquifolium
  • Family Name: Aquafoliaceae
All parts are TOXIC and contain several glycosides and saponins so avoid.
