HI, I'm Rebeez. I have wanted a sulcata tortoise for years now, and have finally gotten my first one! I'm very excited, and worried that I will do something wrong, so I'm looking for advice and found this forum. I have a red ear slider farm, something that happened by happy accident nineteen years ago when we bought a female one year and a male accidentally the next. Its very hard to sex a baby turtle! I have given away many red ears over the years, making sure that their new owners had a pond and knew how to care for them. I've also had box turtles and a desert turtle and loved them all. So, as you can see, I am a turtle lover! I'm glad to have found this forum, and will enjoy meeting you all. Any advise you can give me for an infant sulcata will be greatly appreciated. By the way, we've named him/her Tonto.

Welcome to the forum! Sulcata babies are so sweet! You will love his/her personality. Be sure to read the breed information listed under "Species" at the top of the page. It is loaded with great info abotu care, feeding, housing, lighting, temps, etc. There are a lot of helpful folks here that are always willing to answer questions as well! When you get a chance, post some pics so we can see Tonto! We love looking at pictures!

Most of the info you find for this species is wrong. Feel free to ask questions. We welcome people asking why what we say here is different than what you will find from most other sources.
