Hi, brand new to the forum so bear with me please. I've wanted a tortoise since I was a kid and am now properly researching it. From what I have discovered so far it looks like a Hermanns would be the best choice (much as I'd love a Sulcata it would be totally impractical!). Anyway we have a wardrobe shell hanging about in the garden waiting for us to do something useful with it and I was wondering if it would be suitable for turning into a table? It is just the sides just now, no back, so we'd have to floor it. I don't have the dimensions to hand but can get them easily. I don't know what wood it is but it's varnished.

Also, would this be suitable for combined heating and lighting?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there. Im still new too but that is a similar sort of bulb i use. I personally have the 100 watt bulb. Though i have a horsfield, but that should be suitable. :)

Hello and welcome.

Yes on all counts.

With an open table, be sure to offer a humid hide for your new tortoise.
