Trooper Mullins was dispatched to the injured, stranded turtle on Horsfall Beach Wednesday night. The turtle was also a bit lethargic due to the abnormally low temperatures.

Mullins along with Trooper Cooper created a makeshift habitat for the turtle at the OSP office for the night.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium and OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center have been notified and will pick up the turtle sometime Thursday morning.

OSP extended their thanks to the good Samaritans who called authorities about the turtle.

If you find a sea turtle on the beach this winter, immediately note its location, remain nearby to observe if possible and call the OSP tip line at 800.452.7888. The Marine Mammal Stranding Network can also be reached at 866.767.6114.
