Only yesterday I got my first tortoise - a 1 year old Russian Tortoise and from what I can tell, a female! I haven't decided a name yet. I think there's a bit of pyramiding but I'm bit sure. Will it be a problem?

The picture was taken when I was taking her home so that's why there's sawdust.

How exciting:) have you made her setup yet? As discussed on the forum, pyramiding cannot be reversed, but you can provide a healthy environment through proper care so she doesn't have any further pyramiding. How big is she? At age one, she still has growth to go, so good growth will help her shell look less pyramid over time.

how exciting :) that tortoise looks a little older than a year but we'd need to see a comparison picture. and it's probably too small to tell sex but again, we would need a picture of her belly and tail to be sure. this is the perfect place to learn everything you need to care for your tort properly :)
