I read somewhere that in too big an enclosure that a tortoise hatchling can get “lost”. I’m not sure if they meant that we (the owner) “loose” our tortoise hatchlings and have trouble finding them in their enclosure, or if the hatchling itself gets “lost” and has trouble finding its way around.
I’m assuming it’s the former but I thought I’d ask if a 50 gallon tub is too big for a hatchling?

Thanks:D

Definitely not. In fact, that’s about the minimum they should be put in, and it’ll only last a few months.
