is cherry's ok for redfoots to eat??

just wondering if cherries are good or ok for tortoises to eat. i have a cherry tree and it would be great if my redfoots could eat it.

I don't see why not, but you should remove the pit first. Also, you shouldn't feed them too much. Fruit shouldn't make up much of a redfoots diet.

Mine have eaten cherries plenty of times, I remove the pit first

I looked up a little more info, and some say they are poisonous, some say the seeds are dangerous, and some say nothing at all. Shrug.

Actually, our cherries are much more like a lot of the native fruits they get in the wild then a lot of stuff we offer is.

Not a great Ca: P- 0.61:1- but loaded with vitamins and a small punch of fiber.

I do not feed them regularly or in large amounts (well, most of the time I don't). I also don't remove the pit. I have not noticed a problem with that so far. I figure they eat things like this naturally, they must have an idea of how to do it.

I've yet to feed Toby any cherries, but I'll have to see how he likes 'em.
