Hi,

@Tom or anyone else: In the Russian care sheet Mr Tom mentions a long fluorescent UV light would be recommended. While I was looking into this through the forums, I encountered a comment where Mr Tom said he uses a fluorescent long tube UV with 6500K. He also said he uses another UV for mid-day only. My questions are: Could I purchase that 6500K fluorescent UV light at cheaper price than pet stores or online reptile stores? Also, would that meet the UV needed for the tortoise (she only lives indoors) or would I have to find something stronger?

I will find the post about the lights and add it to the post.

Many thanks

I’m sorry I confused myself, the fluorescent tube is just for light purposes. Would I have to get a UVB light from a reptile pet website or store?

The 6500K is for plant growth and general light. The 6500K just equates to it being a cleaner whiter light with no red/blue tones. UVB is still needed unless unfiltered sunlight is feasible 4+ days a week. By unfiltered that means not passing through glass. Welcome and please include photos
