This is an odd question. I gave (did not sell) an adult female redfoot to Merilyn Abbott of Central Florida Reptile Farm (Abbot's Turtle Farm) of Cocoa Beach, FL in 2003. I was in a situation where I could not provide, temporarily, an appropriate outdoor pen for a large tortoise and I felt it was better for her in FL. Merilyn sent me regular updates. When the updates stopped, I learned Merilyn had died several months prior (in Jan. 2009). I tried for 6 months to find Persephone (the tortoise) and was truly bereft. I have regretted my decision ever since.
Now that I'm on the list, I wonder if it might be possible to find her. Did anyone here purchase a large female redfoot from the Abbotts at any time after Jan. 2009? Or know anyone who did? Perhaps you could ask your redfoot friends? If so, please contact me. Please. I will post a few pix of her. I am, of course, willing to pay to get her back.
