And a very good morning to all . .
Friday night/Sat morning was a wet one for us here. Over night we got 26.1mm of rain, which is a very good start to our rainy season. I was able to rest easily as last May I had mt roof replaced and new gutters & downspouts installed at the same time. No potential leaky roof again.
Seymour, my Leopard Tort has been an eating fool Lately getting up @ 8pm ish, and roaming for food, I'll throw a head of red leave out for him, he'll eat for a bit then head back to his bed, that dear is 5 & 1/2 years old and growing.
Gigantor was a stray that I had acquired, so I have no idea how old he was, but try as I might, he was hard to feed, very picky, and nothing I tempted him with seemed to strike his appetite. So Seymour's great appetite is a relief to me.
PeeWee is about 9 years old and also growing with a very healthy appetite too. He's hard to keep up with, as he will devour a whole large cactus pad in no time.
It is 6am here and very chilly out so I have started the wood burner to get my family room warmed up, and it is supposed to be a sunny day, so I will try to get some yard work done (therapy).
Blessings to you all, my friends, hope you have a lovely day...

Dear MenagerieGrl,

This post has made me laugh as looks like the are trying to eat you out of the house! I assume that Seymour and PeeWee have different compounds and neither of them will hibernate. I am guessing that it doesn't get very cold where you are but that the weather in Ohio where @CathieG lives is similar to ours.

It was a lovely autumn day here but it is set to turn colder.

Goodnight everyone

Dear Angie and Zola,

I read it and there's no need to apologise. Did you get your internet fixed and did you get the early morning look at the sea? Did you see the sunrise?

I just did the teaching this afternoon and the ironing in the morning. I also phoned the landlords/estate agents because I was concerned about a leak which I'm monitoring. I'm now starting to think that it is the bath panel.

Sue I was just wondering when Dickie will be moving in and how things are going? Is everything out now?

Goodnight everyone

Hello Natrah - yes, we got the internet sorted out by a very nice and helpful young man who explained exactly what is going to happen when the new fibre broadband is fixed. It has been cold, wet and windy, but tomorrow is supposed to be a decent day, so we hope to go to get Zola's radicchio - it is a pretty drive for a lot of the way.
I hope you are okay, and managing to sleep all right.
Love from Angie and Zola to you, Sleeping Beauty, dear little Angel Daisy, and to all our other friends xxxxxxxxx

Yes, the two boys are voracious eaters right now. Seymour resides in the house (don't tell anyone, but 3 of my torts roam the house) and have NOT been stepped on once, nor my house Pigeon (Broken wing). Fortunately I have a friend who sells cheese @ the farmer's
market, and Brings me left over Lettuce from the veggie vendor next door, also I have 2 large cactus plants of which they are fruiting right now. All Food for the two. PeeWee has a heat pad in his DogLoo, so, he will stay inside on cold days, and will wander on out, when it warms up. He'll find a patch of sun and soak it all in...till it cools off, then back into the warm DogLoo.

Hello Natrah to answer you’re questions, some progress has been made as the two charities have been & collected most of the tools. I haven’t had time to go over since Friday & today I had to have some big fillings & currently have a slightly swollen face & tooth pain. All to be expected as the teeth are right at the back top so my mouth was pulled around a bit. The decay was behind the existing fillings right up to the nerve. Painkillers haven’t dulled it yet so I don’t think I’m in for a restful night!
His sister has started cleaning the house doing one room at a time. I’ll next go on Thursday after I’ve cleaned the guinea pigs & rabbit out.
What sort of clean did you do at your house? I think his sister is being way too fussy & was washing the skirting boards with soapy water. She wants the window frames washing as well. Considering the house all needs redecorating & updating, the kitchen in particular, I think it’s a bit much.
We havent got the space yet in our garage for the tortoise box but this coming Friday we hope a couple of large items will be going so things can then be moved around a bit to make room for Dickie. She is quite alright though where she is at the moment. In our garage it will be a lot noisier.
Its just small steps but we’re getting there ☺️
I‘m assuming Jacky is still sleeping & those lovely photos are from before?

Dear CathieG,

We have giant praying mantis in Malaysia where most insects are three times the size. Do you still get the sunbirds?

Goodnight

Dear Natrah,

One morning, on my birthday, Dilly told me there was a big bug in our house and he was scared 😁so of course I got up to to save him 🤣. I go to the kitchen where he was telling me the monster was. Here it was one of my favorite.🤗 A huge praying mantis full grown🤣. Of course I had to save her from the scaredy cat. She allowed me to walk her onto a newspaper so that I could place her outside where she belonged.

😘 CathieG
PS I don't ever remember seeing sunbirds. But I've seen Goldfinches.😊

Dear Sue,

Yes they are from before. I just wanted to show @MenagerieGrl that sometimes Jacky is inside and enjoys it.

Good evening MenagerieGrl,

Just a few questions. How many pets are you currently looking after and how many tortoises? How big is PeeWee and how much does he weigh? Sherman weighs 16 stones but I imagine PeeWee is still growing. I hope your friend is okay.

Goodnight

Dear Zola,

Did you get your Radicchio and have you been tucking in? We had sunshine and showers here but the sunset was beautiful. How is your mum's wobbliness now is she feeling any better and also how is your broadband?

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Sleeping Beauty and Angel Daisy

PS: Jacky looks okay in the Pet Carrier.

Dear Natrah - we had a lovely drive to Barnstaple - a lot of the way is on treelined roads, and the sun was shining through the branches and lighting up the autumn coloured leaves - I don't remember it all looking as lovely as this ever before. There were still a lot of leaves on the trees, which made it all so colourful.
We got our radicchio, and I met the grand-daughter of the owner of the business - she was very pleased, and my dad let her hold me as a special treat.
When we drove back, the sky was very grey, and the trees weren't as pretty, but it was still quite impressive.
Our broadband is much better, and we are getting a new router, which will improve it still more.
Love to you, Jacky and Angel Daisy, and all my friends

Dear Angie,
Our fall has been exceptionally beautiful also. It's only finally settling into winter and being frozen at night..🤗

That is really impressive - I'm surprised you have the energy to list them after all the work you have feeding them, cleaning out and taking care of them all !!!

Dear Natrah - it has been cold and wet today, and my head was really painful, but I settled down with Zola by the fire - the light was off, but there was a bit of light from the kitchen, and from the fire, of course. Zola was absolutely lovely - I put him on my chest, and slid down in the chair, and he allowed me to warm him up by breathing on him, then I just held him gently, stroking him some of the time, and he stayed still. apart from putting his head by my face some of the time, for nearly an hour ! Just as he started to move purposefully to show he'd had enough, his dad came in to tell me supper was ready, and to take Zola away.
My head felt a lot better, and I felt so proud and honoured that Zola enjoyed my company for all that time -and he did enjoy it, I'm sure - he can make it very clear when he doesn't enjoy something !
Lots of love, dear Natrah, to you, Jackie, Angel Daisy , and to everyone from Zola and Angie xxxxxx

Good morning Sherman!

Do you remember when you crushed Pete's toolbox? Well if you a telescope you can help NASA look for theirs.

Natrah
I doubt he remembers, he was just on one of his close wanders to see what Pete was doing!
Anything new in his garden & he goes over to investigate which means he climbs on it , bashes it & pushes it around.
The gate hasn’t been mentioned recently as they are working to get the wildlife unit finished. I’ll remind Pete it will need to be strong as no doubt it will come under scrutiny from Sherman & will be a “target” 😆

Wow it's as though you have your own sanctuary MenagerieGrl. Do you have any help? I've had budgies, fish, rabbits, cats, a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo in Malaysia. Jacky and Daisy lived with my nana here in the UK and they are used to rabbits, cats and budgies but we didn't have all these animals at the same time.

Keep safe

Natrah
