Of course you did - and you chose one who needed you as much as you needed him - same as with us and Zola - we didn't even think of having a tortoise until we saw his sweet little face looking up at us ! Twenty-one years later, and he has changed our lives in so many ways - nearly all for the better.

Dear Natrah,

You're probably like me and will never get over the loss of an animal that has been in your life. Especially a tortoise that's been there for so long. It will take time for the memories to not be all the time. And not hurt quite as much.🙏 We are warm because we're stuck in the house. There's no flooding here but my prayers are for California and the other states being affected by it. Also for those being affected by the tornadoes. Crazy weather. Today on a whim I splurged on a pet bed for Dilly 😁it was on clearance sale and I think he likes it 😁

Aww when we were in Malaysia and Jacky and Daisy were living with nana here in England we had three cats including a tabby kitten. We also had a rabbit and a cockatoo and they all got along reasonably well.

Zola's dad and I were very worried, as our central heating packed up - something has broken inside - but we made sure Zola was warm enough, of course. It's going to be several days, probably, until it can be fixed - too long a story to tell you about, really. But we have the proper log fire, as well as some portable heaters, so we should be ok.

Hello Natrah - My mum found your thread for me, and said "Oh, Zola - look - that tortoise looks rather like you playing with my shoe !!" And she laughed !!

We had a cold day today - there was quite a bit of snow around, and we couldn't put the central heating on, because the chap was coming to fix it - eventually he turned up in the afternoon, and managed to get it going properly - he is a local person, luckily, as he had to take a part home and do some welding to it - then he came back and fixed it - finally, we could get warm again. It would happen on the coldest day we have had this winter.
Tomorrow we go to Tavistock hospital for me to have my 3 -monthly injections - 35, all over my head - not pleasant, but Zola sits on his dad's lap opposite me, and cheers me on.
