Good evening everyone,

Yes all the pupils are lovely just preparing one pupil for GCSE music recording, and three pupils for grades Initial, 1 & 2 in Piano and Violin this term. Angie I have booked my dental checkup on the 9th March and I may have the chance to cuddle a tortoise afterwards. Actually when Jacky is fully awake I shall book a checkup for her as well.

Goodnight Zola, Sapphire, Ernie, Leo, Angie, Amanda and CathieG

Dear MaNaAkπŸ€—
Sapphire and I are doing fine. I'll hopefully be able to stay awake for a while so I don't wake up at 2am again and wind up sleeping in again past 8am. I have to have some coffee to get motivated. Sapphire goes to bed earlier than me and he'll be ready to eat at 8:30am sharp. So I have to be up and at it by then
.😊🐒

Congratulations, Natrah, on making your dental appointment. It's one of the things it is so easy to put off - and then maybe you regret it! Zola has been in a strange mood most of today - what we call a "I don't know what I want but I want it NOW ! He has been racing around his room, climbing on things, biting my shoes, pushing stuff around the floor - he wouldn't even calm down for his evening stroke by the fire !
You must be a very good teacher - do you ever do group classes in schools ?
When I was teaching in a special school, Zola'sDad used to come in sometimes and play his guitar and sing to the whole school at once. The children loved it, and it gave the support staff and teachers a bit of time to do other things. I always stayed with the children, as I didn't want to miss it !
Goodnight, Natrah ,to you, Sleeping Beauty, Angel Daisy and all our friends - with love from Angie and Zola xxxxx

Well I must tell myself not to put my anxiety on to Jacky. I guess that Daisy's death must have made me concerned about Jacky surviving hibernation so unfortunately I rubbed her shell to make sure she wasn't too cold and woke her up. Thankfully she went back so I wouldn't be surprised if she was in a strange mood. Hopefully Zola will calm down tomorrow and sit with his mum.

I used to teach Beginners Piano to an adult class at Basildon Adult Education College and it was fun. I also taught Introduction To Music to toddlers at Ridley Studios. The children must have loved those guitar recitals Angie. I hope you're feeling better now.

Dear Natrah - Zola wants me to tell you he is in a better mood today, and we had a fairly long stroking session in the dark, by the fire. He just gets like that sometimes, for no reason, and I find it very hard to settle him -similar to a human child,I think. Probably a car ride would do the trick, but Zolasdad doesn't like driving in the dark. Do you play the guitar, Natrah ? When I first knew Richard, in London, he had been travelling round Europe, making a living from singing and playing his guitar in clubs and pubs, etc. Also down the Tube.
He was very good at it - but then, on February !st, 40 years ago, he was attacked in the dark, on his way home to where he was staying, and had a very serious head injury, as well as a dislocated shoulder and other injuries. I went to the hospital, and could see he was going to be a long time getting better - so I said he had better come to stay with me, in my small flat, which had a tv, telephone, central heating, etc, rather than go back to the place where he had been staying with a group of other young men, who were nice, but very unreliable. His family lived in Canada. So he stayed with me, and I looked after him - and we have been together ever since. Now he does more of the looking after me!! The sad thing is that he never felt able to play and sing much in public ever since - just to the children where I taught.
So, anyway, this February 1st was our 40th anniversary.
Love to you, Sleeping (I hope) Beauty, Angel Daisy and everyone from Angie and Zola xxxxx

Dear Angie,

I hope you all enjoyed your anniversary. What did you do? Did you all go out?

I don't really play guitar although I have to teach myself when I was teaching the Violin at St Pierre School and I was asked to teach beginner Guitar. I've just remembered that I did do a course when I initially tried to train as a classroom teacher at what is now the University Of Chichester. That's a horrible thing to happen to Zolasdad though. Is he okay now? You are lucky to have each other and Zola is lucky to have you.

Keep safe

Natrah

PS: Jacky has been stirring.

Dear Zola,

I'm pleased that you are more settled today. This is what whilst I was trying to mow the lawn in our old garden:

Before I got the lawnmower out I went to see where Jacky and Madam were in order to avoid injuring them. I found Jacky in the tortoise house and out of harm's way and Madam was sleeping in some very long grass! I picked Madam up and put her out of harm's way and got the lawnmower out. I went back to check on Madam and found her where she was before. I removed her again and went back to start mowing whilst keeping an eye on Madam. Madam made her way back to where she was before several times and I had to put her in the greenhouse.

I finished mowing the lawn and put Madam in the tortoise house as it was bedtime and Jacky was fast asleep. I put the lawnmower in the greenhouse and started to think about dinner. From the kitchen I could see the tortoise house and Madam coming out! I put Madam back in but we had to go through the process a few times before Madam settled! Madam was such a character and love and I think she loved the freshly cut lawn.

Enjoy the sun

Natrah

Dear Cathie,

I used to call Daisy, Madam when she was being difficult 🀣!

Natrah
Dear Natrah,

That's funny because I call Sapphire his highness at times. Especially when he tries to be the boss of his domain. I'm thinking your too little to call the shots. I'm bigger than you.😁

Zolasdad is fine now, apart from a dent in the top of his head with a scar which sometimes seeps a bit, but he was in hospital at the time for several weeks, and when he came out to stay with me, he also had several epileptic fits. Luckily, having taught in a special school, where there were epileptic children, I didn't panic at all, but had to call an ambulance, as he was much bigger and stronger than me, and I was afraid he might hurt himself. It's a long time ago, and it doesn't seem to have affected him permanently in any way.
We didn't celebrate the anniversary at all, but I'm very glad things have ended up as well as they have for us both. And we have Zola !!
I love your story about Madam - I have more insulting words for Zola when he is being difficult !!

Dear Angie,

I'm very glad that Zolasdad dad is well. Jacky had to be put again today but she went straight back to sleep. I weighed her and cuddled her and her weight is very good. Aren't Jacky, Daisy, Zola and Sapphire such characters! 🀣🀣🀣🀣🐒🐒🐒🐒

Hello Natrah - it has been really cold today, and we haven't gone very far. Zola has been rather subdued , but seemed to enjoy his evening stroke by the fire - he seems to be indicating to me which bits he wants stroked as he moves around on me. Also he pressed his head quite firmly against my chin, below my lower lip - I got the feeling he knows I like that, and is trying to give me his own version of a stroke , too. !!!

Dear Angie,

Zola sounds very cute whereas I am more likely to be shoved! It had been cold and there's been no sign of Jacky. I imagine the cold must have made Zola sleepy.

It was sunny though but anyway my uncle says that there are lots of floods in Malaysia. How's the weather in the US Cathie and how's Sapphire? I have this image of Sapphire, Dilly and Razberry conspiring to get you up in the morning and I have an Zola going out and about with Angie and his dad and the three of them sitting by the fire. Just had a handful of pupils including a new Piano pupil today. She seemed to get on very well and is one of a twin.

Good everyone (I have now started saying good morning to you all)

Dear Natrah and everyone else,

The weather is starting to warm up a bit. It's 40°f but I'm still chilly and so I'm sure Sapphire is. He is eating pretty good though and will probably start being more active soon. One of our weather men from our local news once said that true spring in Ohio starts in mid February. Of course I already knew that because Sapphire told me.😁🐒

Yes, you are right, Cathie - I definitely consider it an honour. It's as though he knows he can't stroke me very well with his feet, so is offering this as an alternative. He pressed his head in the middle at first, and then started moving around

Hello Cathie - my post got cut off in the middle when it finally went through - I just also wanted to say that Zola did this stroking for some time, even on my lower lip, but then eventually he turned away, and pushed me aside in the way he shows he has had enough, and wants to go back to his room to have something to eat. He didn't once try to bite me, even when he was stroking my lip ! I am a very lucky mum. !
