Jacky And Daisy

Thanks, Natrah - I don't think my dad knows that one.
We are probably going to get some more radicchio tomorrow - there might be some rain, but not a lot. We have had quite a bit of rain recently, but at least it saves my dad from watering the flowers.

This might be a slightly longer post than usual as I seem to have had an eventful day. Anyway I'm going to start on behalf of Jacky because she has a few 'tips' for Dickie at the vets tomorrow. We are both thinking of her and also Sue, Pets and George (the cat). Anyway Jacky says not to put up with any nonsense from the vet and to bite or wee on them if necessary. Sue if you scroll back you will know that she had a little 'accident' after her soak this morning which resulted in me putting her back in the tub and washing my hands and cleaning!
Edward has read about this in Cold Dark Room and Sapphire is probably reading it at this moment. Last week I became concerned that Jacky may have bladder stones but after yesterday's present and today's accident this has now gone straight out the window. Daisy must be laughing her head off!
Angie I love reading about Zola's walks and imagine that he had a long walk today. I imagine him climbing over the rocks and I shouldn't think those two that he and his dad met the other day will ever forget him. How lovely to have a meeting like that! Also I don't think it will be long before the swallows are flying!
Anyway today I ended up speaking to both of my brothers. To cut a long story short I knew Sue from another forum and she is aware the difficulties that I had with my brothers and I have mentioned them to Angie. I did most of the caring for my dad with Alzheimer's and my brothers got more involved with the inheritance which involved me having to move out of the house which was my home for 38 years.
I spoke to the eldest of my two brothers on the phone because he had been talking about meeting up and I was aware that he might want to meet up near my birthday on the 18th August. This was a nice idea but I have trouble forgetting the past although it is good to build bridges and a good relationship with my wonderful nephews. I suggested meeting in London partly because he doesn't know about the stuff that went missing (he doesn't know what was in storage) but I can't help remembering the criticisms. I don't know what I was worried about meeting because he is so busy with nephews results days, music festivals that their going to, university and his work that we can't even arrange to meet in London let alone Southend. He saw three times in 2016 the year that dad was diagnosed and when I asked how he thought dad was he said that he thought dad was fine. Anyone who was cared for someone with dementia will know that 'host' mode is very convincing!
After phoning my eldest brother I decide to have dinner at my local wimpy and when I leave I run into my youngest brother and his partner who are about to cross the road. He just says hello and doesn't stop and infact neither of them ask after Jacky or whether she was tested for TB after Daisy's death. They didn't know that Daisy had TB until the day she died. Just after I made Daisy's final appointment with the vets I phoned my youngest brother's partner. I phoned her because I never know if my brother is driving or not. Anyway I told her about Daisy's illness and that I had decided to put her to sleep. She asked where the appointment was and the time. After the phone call I start to get us ready I half expect an offer of a lift but then I remember what at the house and on the day that dad was taken ill for the last time when I got a call from the care home to say that I need the paramedics at the hospital. My brother actually gave me a lift and we arrived at the same time as dad's ambulance but then my brother goes back to work and I had trouble getting him back to the hospital! The time comes for us to leave and I bring Jacky, who has woken up from hibernation to say goodbye to Daisy, in from outside. Daisy and I set off to the vets without any offer of a lift and the bus goes past my brother's studio where his car is in the car park. On the way back he has left the studio because he doesn't want me to turn up! I can't forget this and I have no Idea what Daisy has ever done to him. Later I tell my eldest brother about Daisy and he does feel awful that I had to get the bus to the vets. I can't imagine how Daisy felt on that final journey.

I am on your side whatever you decide to do. (Talk to them ever again, or not?)

I decided to cancel today's lessons due to planned demonstrations. I hope you're all keeping safe. Jacky is having lettuce, kale, grass, dandelions and strawberries outside.

Good evening everyone!
I am about to go to bed but I just wanted type this first of all. We hope you are all okay especially if you are concerned about the UK riots. Our day didn't quite go as planned because one of Natrah's pupils cancelled her lesson leaving Natrah feeling more uneasy than she already was. Another one then cancelled and Natrah decided to cancel everyone because she was concerned that if anything had happened to the pupils then she wouldn't have forgiven herself.
Did anyone go out today? Did you go out Zola? Of course I spent a lot of time outside but Natrah had to go and get her medicine albeit without her 100 mcg thyroxine!
Zola how is your mum today is she feeling any better? Did you get your radicchio it is unfair that the actions of the minority are affecting other people?

Finally Natrah has been winding me up because when she picks me up I try to shove her with my right paw so she then rubs my left paw which I start waving about as well and she thinks it hilarious to see me with my paws everywhere !!!

Dear Natrah - we went to Barnstaple today, as planned - there was no rioting around here - it rained quite a bit on the way,but was quite sunny when we headed back. My mum still has a lot of trouble with the headaches, and is beginning to feel that the new pills won't help her at all - however, she will be speaking to the headache nurse on a telephone appointment at the beginning of September, so will hope for more improvement by then.
I hope you don't have any more trouble in Southend, Natrah - I think that where is a bit too rural for anyone to bother rioting here.

I went to my job today. As far as I know there hasn’t been any bother here thankfully. Hopefully things will settle down now, it has been very concerning.
It was a bit cool this morning so Dickie didn’t come out of her own accord so Pete had to get her out at lunchtime to give her a soak. Again she hasnt eaten much & only ate when he fed her. I’m thinking it’s because it wasn’t sunny but did brighten up after she had gone back in about 2.30pm. Vets again tomorrow possibly the last injection.

No injection today after all. There is a very slight sound with her breathing & because she isn’t making much effort to go out or eat they are referring her to the specialist vets for blood test & whatever is necessary. Just waiting to hear.
Again the weather is cool for Dickie but she did eat a cherry & managed to poo in the carrier on the way.
Think it’s going to warm up briefly soon so we’ll see what happens then. Will keep you posted

Hello Natrah - I hope you've had a peaceful day. As far as I know, there were no protests nearer than Plymouth, which is a long way away. The weather hasn't been very good - quite heavy rain some of the time, and a sort of autumnal feeling in the air. I think quite a lot of tourists will be going home early, which at least reduces the traffic for us but isn't good for the local shops and businesses.
Richard had his eye test, and was very relieved that he was passed as ok - if he were found to have a problem, he wouldn't be able to have a driving licence, and there is no way we could live here without a car -
I once started to learn, but didn't have the time or money to get far - and couldn't possibly face doing it now! Fortunately, Richard is a good driver, even on the very challenging roads we have around here.
Zola didn;t get his breakwater walk today, because of the weather, but he still wanted his long stroking session with me - I think he really looks forward to it.

Dear Sue,
Are you and Pete okay? Jacky used to make a sound when retreating into her shell but if it's Dickie's maybe it's something she inhaled in which case it's possible to remove it. I hope Dickie's okay.
Zola I'm sorry you didn't get your walk but it is supposed to get very warm so you should be able to make up for it. It's been overcast here and we had some rain so Jacky went to bed early.

Yes we’re ok thanks just a little concerned for Dickie.
Her weight is not quite where it should be with hibernation In mind but we’ll see how it goes with the brief hot spell that’s coming.
Hope you’re feeling ok now that the unrest has stopped, for now at least.

Or baby carrot food..???
It will give her a boost of energy.
If she has an infection, the best and only thing to do is check her temperatures
Make sure she is warmer than normal and humidity they say…
