A lady at work is moving and having to get rid of her sulcata, so she gave it to me. It's about 10-15 pounds, and aside for the bit of pyramiding seems pretty healthy. Any guess on the sex? I'm hoping it's not another male, if it is and Mr T can't get along with this one I already have another home lined up for it. If it's a female, she's staying right here!

The anal scutes look wide and the plastron LOOKS concaved...I'm guessing Male. But lets wait for experts :)

They are wide and the plastron definitely looks concave, looks male but I would wait for a more educated guess.

it has a slight concave. i thought that the scutes on a female were wide so the eggs would have no problem passing? is this not right? also, it looks like a short tail, is it not short enough?

thanks for the great link, Kristina. definitely a male....

i just hope they can settle down. they have been pushing each other around the yard and Mr T keeps mounting him. i had to put Mr. T in his shed. if they can't get along i have a good home lined up for the little fella already. i just hope it doesn't come to that, i would love to keep them both.

What is his SCL...I know you said he's 15 pounds...and the plastron and anal scutes say male...but the tail sure is short. I still lean towards male...but that tail...

Its a boy. Females have almost no tail. Its just barely a nub behind the cloaca. And the anal scutes form a rounded U shape, never a V. And females will have no concavity at all.

Its very unlikely that they will stop fighting. If they do, the little new one will be in a constant state of stress and fear.

This is a 75 pounder.
