Just got my first sulcata tortoise thought an adoption from petmart. I notice something under his/her under belly. I have been doing soaks and it hasnt fallen off and i dont wanna pull it. Any thoughts. They say 4months old

Please read the care sheet that happy tort linked for you. Most of the care advice and products sold for this species is all wrong.

Pet shops don’t have the correct information for raising tortoises. Almost everything they tell you is wrong.

As for your question, I’m not really sure, to be honest. I agree with the other members mentioned. Perhaps this baby was started off dry?
made improvements asap as well as getting a che bulb later. Will it heal or is he/she a lost cause :( id hate to lose leonardo
