Hi all I live in Cyprus in the Mediterranean. Have been keeping tortoises for about 12 years now. Tortoise are not native to Cyprus, but are found not to many miles away on the mainland of Greece and Turkey.
I have had two female tortoise for 12 years and this year was given one that somebody had found, which has turned out to be a male. We now have some babies as well.
Because of where we live by the coast it doesn’t get to cold, though it may be very wet at times in the winter. So unlike most keepers mine live outside all year round.
They have a big enclosed area, with a weather proof box for sleeping in and shade hides for the summer.
We are making another enclosure for the male for next year, so the girls can get some peace.
The babies have there own fully enclosed pen for now, to protect them from predators.
I just hope I can get them through the winter.
Thanks for reading will post photos soon. Julia

Thanks all for the warm welcome. My three are all Greeks then, just such different colouring.
Lucky was rescued from getting run over as he crossed the road by some friends. Lots of escaped tortoise here so it seems.

Thanks for the welcome. We are redesigning our tortoise pen area, into pens for next year. The veg garden will go to make room for them. Looking at plants to put in them, hopefully herbs so we still get some use out of land. Also succulents, apetina does really well here, and I see it is safe for tortoises.
