Hi I have a big outdoor pond with koi and goldfish. My smallest fish is about 6 inches. I would like to get turtles... So my real question is what size turtle could I get without having to worry about him eating fish. I would think that anything over 8 inches would be too big but could turtles around 5-7 inches be okay in it?

Most turtles (with maybe the exception of the softshells) won't expend too much energy chasing gold fish. But if a fish is slow or injured, yes, the turtle will eat it. You may end up with fish with bites out of them or no fins/tails. Fish is a normal dietary item for turtles. There's no guarantee the fish will be safe.

I have some pretty big turtles in my pond along with some feeder gold fish around 8-10" and it doesn't look like the turtles eat my fish.

It all depends upon if you're willing to take the chance.

Yah I don't mind if they are sick or injured and are eaten. There are tons of hiding spaces too. I've heard many mixed responses, I'll just keep them well fed and hope for the best
