Like Dan said it only takes about a month. I have a few that always lay 4 to 5 weeks after they are woken up from hibernation.

thanx guys. i was so surprised. the 1st egg is half the size of the others and more bumpy but the other 3 are huge. i cant believe that she had them inside her.
how long do u incubate ur eggs before deciding if they are dud ones?

Many times you will notice in just a few hours that they will begin chalking (meaning they are probably fertile) other times it may take a week or more. Don't give up on the eggs too quickly, give them time.

thanx everyone. Chris wots chalking?? ive come home tnite and noticed 2 of the eggs have kinda become patchy like patches of shell that have become a different shade.. is this anything to worry about??

Thats chalking, they look patchy white?

yeah parts of the egg are white and parts off-white.. so chalkin isnt anything to do with a chalky dust on the outside of the egg? sorry but thats wot sprung to mind lol

well ive checked the eggs today against a light and it looks like the left side is yolk and the right side is clear. is this normal?

Normal. Chalking begins as a white spot or fleck and it continues to expand until the entire egg is a chalky-white color. After that veins will appear and soon an embryo.
