In 2011 I caught a glimpse of a young cat occasionally running and hiding outside, so I set a humane trap, caught her and took her to the vet to be spayed. When she came home I just let her out and she became one of my 'outside' cats. She never really fit in, was scared of every little noise, hid all the time. So I figured she needed to come inside where she could feel safe. Little Missy Kitty:
Over the years she has developed a flea allergy and just one little flea causes her much itching, biting and grooming. Plus, with all that grooming, she quite often coughs up a hair ball or two.
I figure Missy is about twelve years old now. So she's quite sedentary (except for the extensive grooming). Her habit is to find an out of the way place to be alone. She uses that spot continuously until she hacks up a hair ball in it, then she finds a new spot. So over time I have found her on top of the water heater, on top of the fridge, on top of the cat tree, on the shelves in the living room, on top of the piano - well, you get the picture.
So the last couple days I haven't been able to find her new spot, only seeing her when she came out to eat. This a.m. I chanced a sighting:
