Hi to all,
I've researched a long time to find a suitable companion for my family here in Texas. They wanted chickens, I on the other hand did not. I have nothing against chickens, it just would have not worked out well.
After more searching I found Le Tortoise! Non-poisonous, doesn't require live insects, can be touched/petted, no daily walks, intelligent, and live-in landscaper. What really sealed the deal was when I showed them photos of tiny new tortoises.
Thanks to members of TFO I too will soon be a tortoise owner.
Thanks,
Weldon

Hello and welcome.

What species did you decide on?

Thanks Tom. Chosen species is Leopard, I have enough shaded areas in summer and a greenhouse for winter. Controlling habitat temperature was my main concern while deciding on species.
