Thanks - thats really helpful. Im surprised that despite two xrays and examinations with a vet, Ive got more info today from you all from just a post and some photos. Im really grateful

With exotic species, you have to think way outside the 40,000-years-domesticated box.

We're holding good thoughts for you both. Please let us know how things go!

In the meantime, if she will eat from your hand, that should help (vs banging the face on a hard surface tortoise-style).

Roll a collard leaf into a thin cigar, or offer bite-sized pieces. Be careful of the upper beak, they do break skin when they strike fingers. If you have a pellet food on hand, soak well and offer small pieces (possibly the best strategy for maximizing nutrition/calories at this point).

Shes very easy to hand feed tiny bits of leaves and Ive dipped then in water to make them easier. I would like to find something calorie and nutrition dense too if anyone can recomnend - bearing in mind she can only take tiny easy food. What would you use?

Yeah, you don't want to overwhelm her tongue, but it's great she will hand feed!

Any of the pellet foods here (call local pet stores to avoid shipping delays):

You soak the pellets until completely soft, then break pieces off to feed.
