Hello,

I know it is still young, but I wanted to get some opinions on what we think this little one's gender is.

I am already leaning towards thinking it is a male. The scutes are forming a V, at least to me, and "he" seems to have a bit of a concave forming on the plastron.

I'll try to come back in another year and post some more pictures!

Too soon to tell.

All anal scute of juveniles for a "V". In males that V widens and opens up once the secondary sexual characteristics begin to kick in. In females, the "V" becomes a "U". Yours looks like it it starting to form that U. That coupled with the sort stubby tail has me leaning female at this early stage.

At that size, I could already tell Levi was a male. It's true, it's difficult to say for sure because juveniles look so similar. BUT the fact that yours does not look like mine did, make me lean towards female.
