Hello! I recently became a sulcata tortoise momma. His name is Marley. We seems to be doing well with his set up. I have the lighting and the hides and the food/flowers. I recently bought sphagnum moss to help with his humidity. His half log hide seems to be trapping to much moisture causing the coconut coir to mold. Would he be ok to just use the moss. His log hide was away from the light so it was his cool spot so the moss would replace his log hide but I want to make sure he's safe from mold.

Hi and welcome,
The caresheet linked above will help you with your set up but moss isn't recommended for torts because they often eat it and it can cause impaction of the gut.
If you post some pics of your enclosure you'll get good feedback to make sure it's as safe as possible for little Marley.

Here is his enclosure. Temporary Due to having one made but the red dots mark pieces of terracotta pot For him to climb, he's got his toys he explores daily, water and food, then the moss. He hasn't really eaten it at all he nibbled the first day but since has only eaten his food. He didn't like his log hide and it was causing the coconut coir to mold so I removed that. If he's not out exploring he is 100% tearing up his terra cotta hide. He sleeps in it so I figure it's warm. The moss is mainly to help with humidity. I check the moss and his enclosure twice a day and clean it up everyday on lunch while he soaks. Hopefully I'm doing it right to make him happy. He does have a new 100 watt bulb coming tomorrow.

Here is a better picture of the enclosure with the moss after I've cleaned it up while he soaks (already tore up lol) will this moss layout be safe for him. Again he' doesn't really find it tasty for food but works for humidity
