Hi I have 3 Russian tortoises 2 female and a male. My male has been going after the larger female for mating purposes. I was wondering if she is pregnant how long till she lays the eggs? And should I keep the male away from the female. It's been a few days since he has been "frisky" and normally doesn't bother her but I have been reading that they shouldn't be housed together but mine have been for over a year with no issues.
Thanks for any help
Jamie

Generally speaking, female tortoises lay their eggs in the spring so they will hatch in the fall. Your tortoise probably won't be digging a nest until next year.

Two females are good. You male will evenly spread his attention. However, if your torts successfully mate, do you really want all those eggs? Russians can lay several clutches in a seaon, each containing 1-4 eggs!

It took about a month for my female to lay an egg after she was impregnated. Just laid an egg today.
