So I heard that a slanting and not rounding rear end is signs of MBD. I got my Sulcata when he was a couple weeks old and I remember him looking like this. Hes about 4 months old now.
Heres some pics:
Okay. I was scared after I read about it. But I got an MVB for christmas and I give calcium 2-3 times a week. So it might just be a defect? Because he was outside everyday in the summer for at least an hour.
For comparison, here is a picture of my rescued hermann's, who has severe MBD. You can see that her rear carapace is severely sloped with a pronounced divot at the middle back of the shell.
In my opinion, yours looks like a normal, albeit unusual, shape.
There is more than one type of sulcata. One of the types has that sort of high in front and more sloping back like that. If he got sunshine all summer, calcium 2 or 3 times a week and now he's gonna be under an MVB, I don't think you need to worry about MBD.
I have looked over them from day one. I spray multiple times a day and keep his humidity high. His shell looks a lot better than in the photos, now that I look back on them.
