Hello everyone

I’ve dipped in and out if this forum for some time as and when I’ve had questions and always found the answers I needed from the very knowledgable folk on here, it really is one of the best sources of specialist information on the www, so decided to join.

I have a Greek tortoise, she’s about 65 years old now. I was 3yrs old when she was bought for my brother so I don’t remember a time without her. My brother named her Speedy (not very original but he was only 5yrs old) after the cartoon mouse, Speedy Gonzales, she was literally one of those torts that was there one minute and gone the next. Not so Speedy now though, poor ol’ girl.

When my brother moved out he lived in a flat so she stayed at home with mum and dad. My brother died some years ago so I inherited her 6 years ago when mum and dad died.

We made her a lovely run in the garden, bought her ‘cave’ from mum and dads that she sleeps in all summer and she sleeps indoors in our cloakroom through winter.

When I have time I’ll pop a photo or two of her up.
