Please make sure Emet has a flat, stable area near the surface that is partly covered. He needs to be able to rest and sleep close enough to the surface so that all he has to do is lift his head.
What worked really well for Nelson was: I bought a new terracotta flower pot, filled it with rocks, siliconed in several stems of broad leafed plastic plants, and PRESTO: a safe, comfy turtle bed!

He looks so little in that tank but he needs the space to stretch and swim.....a very cool little guy!

I know! Sometimes I think he'll get lost in there, but he's doing well!

Yea, I have wanted another turtle too, but this gave me a really good excuse 😁
