Everyone please meet Tank!
This new member of the family is a massive male sulcata weighing in at around 90 pounds. His SCL is unknown (I'm letting him acclimate to his new home) but I'm guessing he is around 28". He BARELY fits through the house's door which is 22". I have to fix that soon.
According to the man who fostered him, he is between 15 and 27 years old. He eats around two grocery bags full of leafy greens DAILY, but will be switched to more hay and weeds (Mazuri too) very soon.
I almost forgot! This giant wasn't easy to get home! There's a 25 mile gap between where he was housed to where I live, SO....
I made this:
Then we trudged him out of his spot under the tree, into a wheel barrow, then into my car! (Easier said than done!)
Once we got home, it was raining so I stuck him into his house and left the top ajar. Later, the sun came out a little, so I offered him half an apple. He didnt eat it, but it got him out of his shell a little. He's fairly timid, but I am convinced its just because of the rough move.
And a big, big, bigger-than-Tank thank you to Heather (Team Gomberg) for setting us up with this guy.
**more pictures to come**
